Amazon Fire TV could challenge Samsung with an all-new 4K television next month

But given the size of the rumoured Amazon TVs – as well as TCL’s past offerings – we’d expect the TVs to offer 4K screen quality and have HDR support.

If the new Amazon TVs are due out in October then official confirmation could be imminent.

News on the Amazon TVs could drop alongside the reveal of the next generation of Amazon Echo smart speakers.

Last year the new Alexa powered devices were unveiled towards the end of September.

If Amazon are indeed looking to launch its first branded TV in the West then it could be a sign the retail giant is looking to take on big industry players such as LG and Samsung more directly.

And that’s quite a considerable challenge, considering these South Korean tech giants have cornered this area of the market.

Earlier this year Samsung revealed it had been named the number one global TV manufacturer for 15 years in a row.
