The Bachelor’s Angie Kent admits she made a ‘naughty’ mistake after being caught drink driving on her way to a fully vaxxed picnic

Former Bachelorette star Angie Kent has spoken out after she was disqualified from driving for four months after getting caught drink driving on her way to a picnic.

The 31-year-old admitted to KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O show on Tuesday, she made a ‘naughty mistake’.

‘I just finished back-to-back training for five weeks for Dancing With the Stars, and when I’m stressed I don’t eat much and I’d two drinks for my first fully-vaxxed picnic,’ she said.

‘I got a little bit too excited and I drove and I shouldn’t have,’ she added.

Angie continued: ‘I thought I was able to drive after two drinks, but the lesson here is that don’t think you can at all because there’s a good chance you’ll be over and its not worth it.’

The TV personality pleaded guilty to mid-range drink driving after blowing over the limit during a random breath test on the city’s Anzac Bridge on October 3.

Following her arrest, Angie publicly claimed she had two drinks on an empty stomach while getting ready for a fully-vaccinated picnic.

As well as receiving a four-month driving ban, the reality TV star was fined $1,200 and ordered to participate in an interlock program for 12 months.

She appeared glassy-eyed and nervous during the hearing, frequently drumming her finger tips on her lap, and looked downcast as the sentence was read out.

Magistrate Vivien Swain said Angie’s poor driving record was not something ‘she can rely on’.

‘It is littered with offences, including speeding offences and she has been issued with several demerit letters,’ the magistrate said.

‘If you drive, it’s best not to drink at all. Ms Kent will understand it is not tolerated in our community and places people at risk.’
