Another reshuffle for 2Day FM as TWO presenters leave the Sydney radio station for Brisbane

Struggling Sydney radio station 2Day FM has been rocked by two major departures this week.

Host and producer Ellie Angel-Mobbs, described as a ‘stalwart’ of the company, is departing after a decade, reports Radio Today.

She is moving to Brisbane to become an assistant content director at B105, which is also part of Southern Cross Austereo’s Hit Network.

Despite having a predominantly behind-the-scenes role, Angel-Mobbs will continue to do the occasional on-air weekend shift.

Meanwhile, Jamie Angel is also moving to Brisbane to take on the role of creative director at Triple M Brisbane, according to Radio Today.

Angel, who is married to Angel-Mobbs, held various senior creative positions during his 11 years at 2DayFM, and even anchored the breakfast show from 2019 to 2020.

Meanwhile, the current iteration of 2Day FM breakfast, The Morning Crew with Hughesy, Ed and Erin, has struggled in the ratings recently.

The program is hosted by sportscaster Erin Molan and former Hit Network drive presenters Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes and Ed Kavalee.

After another disappointing radio survey, Erin, 38, said last week there will probably be more bad ratings to come before things improve.

‘We are not worried on any level at all,’ she told The Daily Telegraph.

‘We will get smashed for the next few surveys, we have no doubts whatsoever about that but this is the long haul,’ she added.

‘This is going to take a long time. While the numbers aren’t there at the moment, absolutely, we are really confident they will be.’

Erin also revealed she’d been warned by management not to look at the ratings for the first 18 months.
