They’re usually dressed in dapper suits as they host primetime television shows.

But Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, both 45, looked very different on the set of a new TikTok advert as they depicted the history of entertainment.

In a brief clip from the lengthy advert, Saturday Night Takeaway presenter Ant transformed into Queen Elizabeth I, complete with an elaborate red wig and painted white face.

Ant donned a shaped purple bodice and matching split skirt made from a silky material with a pretty paisley pattern.

His costume had ruffles around the high neckline and he wore a long gold chain which sat on his hips and hung down to the front across the split of the skirt.

The star’s hair was decorated with pearls to match his pendulum earrings and he wore a large gold pendant on a chain around his neck.

Seconds later his pal Dec pops out from underneath Ant’s skirt as Ant feigns astonishment.

He had on a cape and hat, and he completed his look with white gloves and a pair of black tights, and matching shoes with a mustard bow.

The clip was filmed as part of a campaign to promote entertainment content on social media platform TikTok.

In an advertisement released last month, Ant and Dec can be seen dressed in their Elizabethan costumes as part of the clip which takes viewers on a journey through the history of entertainment in one minute.

The pair are seen dressed as cavemen before they move forward to Ancient Rome and then the Elizabethan era.

They are then brought forward into the 21st century, appearing on a television set.

The campaign, created by Mother London, is the second time Ant and Dec have worked with TikTok after the platform bosses partnered with them on Saturday Night Takeaway.
