After months of speculation, Apple finally unveiled a true wireless pair of Beats earbuds, the Beats Studio Buds on Monday.

The $149.99, lightweight earbuds come in three colors – black, red and white – and boasts cutting edge noise cancelling, up to a 24-hour battery life and rapid charging with its accompanied case.

Beats Studio Buds include Active Noise Cancelling that blocks out all outside noise, but also features Transparency mode for when you need to tune the world back in.

DailyMail.com received a pair to test prior to the unveiling and found they deliver an impressive sound quality that’s both powerful and balanced and may leave you wondering whether the sounds are coming from your smartphone or the Beats Studio Buds.

And unlike other earbuds, Beats Studio Buds offer one-touch pairing with both iOS and Android.

However, the one thing missing from Apple’s new earbuds is volume controls – users have use their smartphone or smartwatch to adjust sound levels.

Beats Studio Buds are available to order starting today in the US and Canada, with shipping beginning June 24.

Apple has been long-rumored to release a true wireless pair of Beats earbuds and today, the speculation has been confirmed. The tech giant officially announced its new Beats Studio Buds Monday, but DailyMail.com received a pair to test prior to the unveiling

Once your Beats Studio Buds are paired with a device, all you need to do is remove them from the charging case and they activate instantly.

The earbuds include three soft silicone eartip options, allowing users to ensure a custom fit, and are designed with a laser cut micro-vent on the acoustic nozzle to ensure pressure relief on the eardrum.

Professional basketball player Lebron James and soccer player Alex Morgan were both recently spotted sporting a pair.

And after testing the earbuds while working out two hours each day over the past two week, it is not a surprise that athletes are already fans.

Beats Studio Buds are sweat-resistant, so they do not slide around in the eardrum doing an intense workout.

And because they are truly wireless, there is not a cord flailing around during intense exercise.

Beats Studio Buds stayed in place while running for more two miles, while the $50 Beats Flex has slipped due to the cord moving around with every step.

Other exercises conducted during testing included weight lifting, which can cause users to sweat, but with the sweat- and water-resistant design, the earbuds did not have to be removed for adjustment – allowing for a continuous workout without interruption.

One downfall is they can easily pop out of the ear while you are removing an article of clothing over your head because of the control feature that protrudes from the earbuds.

But it’s a small price to pay because the notch allows for a range of features that improves user experience.

There is a multi-function ‘b’ button on each earbud that houses microphones and on-board product controls that provide access to ANC and Transparency mode.

A long press enables the noise control button, so you can switch from ANC to Transparency mode as needed throughout the day.

And another long press turns both ANC and Transparency off for extended battery performance without sacrificing audio quality.

Beats Studio Buds’ ANC and Transparency mode were tested during walks through busy streets in Hoboken, New Jersey.

The city is the last stop before New York City and although smaller than the Big Apple, is just as busy as some parts – and also as loud.

With ANC, all surrounding noises were muted, allowing music and conversations to be heard loud and clear.

With Transparency mode, sounds from the earbuds could be heard, along with the hustle and bustle of traffic and other pedestrians walking along the busy streets.

Although Studio Buds does not block out surrounding sound as well as the more expensive AirPods, it does the job for its asking prive.

And if you have never had noise cancelling headphones before, these will not let you down.

Customize the ‘Press and Hold’ function on either earbud to enable voice assistant for help with controls and tasks on-the-go, and iOS users can activate Siri hands-free by saying ‘Hey Siri’ – the same way of activating the assistant on an iPhone.

Beats Studio Buds boasts a two-chamber acoustic design to provide stereo separation and low harmonic distortion.

Additionally for Apple Music users, Studio Buds automatically plays Spatial Audio for available tracks mixed in Dolby Atmos so you can enjoy true multidimensional sound and clarity.

Spatial Audio uses 3D audio effects to manipulate sounds produced by stereo speakers.

However, the earbuds do not include sensors that detect when they have been removed from the ear and only shutdown when put into the charging case.

During phone calls, the dual-beam forming microphones target your voice and filter out wind and obstructing external noise for elevated clarity.

Beats Studio Buds are also available in white and come with a charging cord

Users will get up to eight hours of listening time with two additional charges provided by its pocket-sized carrying case, giving you up to 24 hours of combined playback.

With ANC or Transparency mode activated, Beats Studio Buds provide up to five hours of listening time and up to 15 hours combined with the case.

However, to pump a little more juice into your earbuds will only take five minutes – the case has ‘Fast Fuel charging’ that  gives up to one hour of playback when battery is low.

This feature is a dream for those who forget to charge their headphones the night before heading to the gym first thing in the morning.

And Studio Buds can be paired with both FindMy in iOS and Find My Device on Android, which is the first Beats devices to do so.
