The second trailer for Home Alone remake Home Sweet Home Alone has been released, and the action-packed clip sees British actor Archie Yates (who plays lead Max Mercer) take Christmas pranking to a whole new level.
Just like the original 31-years ago, the remake follows a boy who was left behind from a family vacation during Christmas, only to have to fend off a pair of husband-and-wife criminals played by Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney.
Set for release on November 12, Archie, 12, replaces Macaulay Culkin’s iconic Kevin McCallister and is left to gorge on sweets and play with toys when his family accidentally forgets him on the way to Tokyo.

The new trailer sees Max’s mother (played by Aisling Bea) beg flight attendants to book her a return ticket home after she arrives in Japan to find her son has been left behind.
The confusion occurs after Max’s family are split onto two separate flights, with both parents assuming Max is on the other plane.
Meanwhile, Max revels in the joys of being unsupervised and can be seen grinning from ear-to-ear when he awakes to learn he has been left to his own devices.
Meanwhile, Ellie and Rob’s characters (Pam and Jeff) pull up to Max’s sprawling home before Rob nervously tells his wife he doesn’t want the robbery to land them in jail.

‘Do you think I’m stupid?’ a Santa Claus-costume clad Rob shouts down to Max in the trailer before falling off a balcony and bouncing off a trampoline in stellar slapstick style.
‘Yes, I do,’ Max smirks.
Though he didn’t appear in the trailer, Culkin reportedly makes a cameo in the flick.

The British child actor received a Critics’ Choice Movie Award nomination in the Best Young Actor/Actress category for his portrayal of Jojo’s best friend.
Home Sweet Home Alone also features Kenan Thompson, Tim Simons, Pete Holmes, Devin Ratray, Ally Maki and Chris Parnell.

WHO IS ARCHIE YATES?
Hailing from Edenbridge in Kent, 12-year-old Archie shot to fame after co-starring alongside Roman Griffin Davis in 2019’s Taika Waititi-directed hit JoJo Rabbit.
At the time of filming, only child Yates was still attending Edenbridge Primary School
Yates filmed JoJo Rabbit for three weeks in Prague in 2018 and was accompanied by his mum Julie for the shoot
He was first introduced to acting at Oxted’s Stagecoach theatre club
An avid Lego and video games fan, the young actor also voiced Sprout in animated series Wolfboy and the Everything Factory

The film was announced after The Walt Disney Company acquired 21st Century Fox and gained the film rights to the Home Alone Franchise.
The reboot is the first in a line planned by Disney since its acquisition of Fox titles.
Revivals of Fox titles such as Cheaper By The Dozen, Night At The Museum and Diary Of A Wimpy Kid also have been in the works, according to Deadline.
