Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta bluntly shut down questions over Daniel Ek’s appearance at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday as the prospective new owner continues his efforts to buy the club from Kroenke Sports Enterprises (KSE).

Spotify co-owner Ek was spotted at the Emirates Stadium for the first time since he launched a bid to purchase the club.

The Swedish billionaire has enlisted help from Gunners legends, including Henry, who attended the north London derby alongside Ek.

KSE are adamant that they do not want to sell the Gunners but fans are keen to see a change in ownership.

Arteta guided his team to a brilliant 3-1 victory over Spurs thanks to goals from Emile Smith Rowe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bukayo Saka.

And the Spaniard was then quizzed on if he knew about Ek and Henry’s appearance in the stands, which was captured by the Sky Sports cameras.

“No. I wasn’t,” Arteta bluntly replied.

Ek has previously explained why he is so desperate to get his hands on Arsenal.

“As a kid growing up, I’ve cheered for @Arsenal as long as I can remember,” he wrote on Twitter.

“If KSE would like to sell Arsenal I’d be happy to throw my hat in the ring.”

On the pitch, fans are starting to believe in Arteta’s plan once again after three consecutive wins have turned their early-season fortunes around.

“This win is for the fans,” Arteta told Sky Sports. “They were incredible in tough moments when we needed their support.

“It doesn’t get much better than the atmosphere we saw here today. It was one of the nicest feelings I had, certainly in this stadium.

“It was a big occasion, to win it the way we did, and to feel that connection with team and supporters made it really special.

“It’s impossible to attract people and connect with what we’re trying to do if we don’t have fans here.

“It makes such a difference. We want to entertain them and play in a way that makes them proud.”
