Great Britain’s Bianca Walkden was moments from winning her 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medal for Women’s +67kg Taekwondo when she suffered a devastating upset. Ms Walkden was unable to hold on her to her slim lead of 24-22 Lee Da-bin. Ms Da-Bin was able to land a crucial headshot to just scrape above Ms Walkden in the tense final moments.
Ms Walkden then dropped to the floor lying flat as the South Korean team celebrated their victory.
Ms Walkden was also given eight yellow cards total in the final fight while the South Korean fighter was given two.
