Brexit LIVE: Frost in showdown talks with Sefcovic as Article 16 row on brink

Lord Frost will meet with Maros Sefcovic today for crunch talks concerning the Northern Ireland protocol. 

Lord Frost has insisted the UK will trigger Article 16 of the protocol if a resolution is not found. 

During a meeting with France’s EU minister, Clement Beaune, Lord Frost sought changes to the protocol. 

A Government spokesman said: “We are seeking substantive changes to the protocol with the EU.

“These changes are necessary because the protocol as it’s currently being enforced is extremely damaging to the people of Northern Ireland and the businesses therein.”
