She paid tribute to the charity, which helps underprivileged children, as she spoke about her own childhood and links to Liverpool.
She told her followers: ‘I grew up not far away in a single parent family in poverty in the 60s.
‘My brother Anton was born with a severe cleft lip and palate and used to come to @alderhey Hospital for operations here on the train with my Mum.
‘He had 24 operations in total through his life. I was rushed here as a toddler too for a life saving operation.’
‘So am eternally grateful to this great city for all of the love given to us.’
