Kim Tate has been through a great deal since she joined the Emmerdale clan in the ITV soap in 1989. She has acted as one of the show’s main antagonists, known for her money-making and vengeful schemes. The star Claire King has opened up about having children.

In upcoming scenes on Emmerdale, Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) and Kim take revenge on Alex Moore (Liam Boyle).

Kim is impressed with her new husband’s bravado as she watched him take his anger out him.

She has been at the heart of the soap for some time since the anniversary celebrations got underway, with the unforgiving storm.

She does have two stepdaughters with her partner, but is unable to have children of her own after she had a hysterectomy.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, Claire said: “My ex didn’t want children as he already had one.

“And by the time we split up, I was just on the verge of missing that window.

“But then I started getting ill and had to have a hysterectomy, so I just accepted it wasn’t meant to be for me.”

The actress’s on-screen son is Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln), a partner in Emmerdale Veterinary Surgery who found himself in a relationship triangle with Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) and Andrea (Anna Nightingale).

Kim also has stepchildren, Chris (Peter Amory), Zoe (Leah Bracknell) and Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley).

Claire’s career dates back to the late 80s when she starred in the film Eat the Rich, and she has gone on to star in Bad Girls, The Gemma Factor and Hollyoaks.

Emmerdale airs on ITV on weeknights at 7.30pm.
