    He’s the world famous popstar who’s decided to transition back to his first love, swimming. 

    And on Monday, Cody Simpson looked fighting fit as he prepared to compete at the Australian Olympic Swimming Trials in Adelaide. 

    The athlete, 24, showcased his muscular physique as he slipped into a pair of olive green swimming trunks and took to the blocks before the swim.

    Cody’s bulging biceps and ripped torso were on full display as he stood by the pool in a swim cap and goggles. 

    The singer’s extensive tattoo collection was also in full view as he prepared to get into the zone. 

    Cody spoke to GQ Sports recently about his training schedule, and admitted to a complete lifestyle overhaul. 

    ‘Few years ago I used to go to bed at 5am, now I get up at 5am,’ the hunky blond told the publication.

    Cody revealed he now eats a high protein diet, in order to fuel his body before hitting the pool. 

    ‘I start abruptly with a 5am alarm and make a wrap with peanut butter and banana,’ he said, explaining his quick breakfast.  

    Cody said he has to be in the water by 6am, doing four hours in the pool most days. He also does 60 to 90 minutes in the gym, three times a week.

    The singer said after practice he usually has a protein shake along with avocado on toast, and also tries to eat a lot of fish.  

    ‘I love to eat fish and veggies to get healthy protein and carbs… [And] a slow-burning carb that will last me throughout the night,’ he explained. 

    Cody said he has upped his intake of food, eating three to four times more than he did prior to Olympic training. 

    He said he tried to eat a lot of ‘plant-based and pescatarian’ foods.  

    Turning his attention to his body, Cody said it has changed with him putting on a lot of muscle mass due to training.
