    David Beckham teases Ed Sheeran about his less than impressive football skills before the singer unsuccessfully pitches a duet between the pair in new TikTok skit 

    Ed Sheeran has teamed up with David Beckham to reveal he will be performing at TikTok’s UEFA EURO 2020 Show. 

    In a hilarious new video, , the Thinking Out Loud hitmaker, 30, is seen practicing his questionable football skills while David, 46, watches on and laughs via video chat before Ed floats the idea of a collaboration – yet the connection is conveniently lost.  

    The video was posted on his TikTok channel on Friday and acted to announce the special gig, which will be staged at his home ground of Portman Road, Ipswich Town on June 25, and will feature his new single for the first time.

    As David watched on from his swanky home via video screen, he laughed and said: ‘Ed really needs some help’, leading to a video call in which a rainbow jumper-clad Ed was opening a box with a Beckham shirt.

    Ed said: ‘David – did you just send me a package?’, to which David responded: ‘I heard you’re going to be performing.

    The singer exclaimed: ‘I’ll be singing, not playing football!’ before he then suggested the duo perform a duet yet lost connection.

    Upon announcing the gig, excited Ed said: ‘Can’t wait to perform at TikTok’s UEFA EURO 2020 Show live from Portman Road…

     TikTok’s Head of Music Operations UK, Paul Hourican added: ‘We are honoured to play host to Ed Sheeran for this very special gig during the UEFA European Championships…

    ‘He is one of the greatest pop stars of his generation, a truly groundbreaking live performer and I know this moment is going to be truly special for the global TikTok community.’

    The concert will be live streamed from Ipswich at 9pm BST on Friday 25th June and will be free to view on TikTok. The show will be available to view again on 26th June and 9th July for global audiences that missed the first performance.

    The TikTok UEFA EURO 2020 Show is a celebration of music and football and marks TikTok’s partnership with UEFA as the home for football fans during the tournament.  

    The announcement comes after Ed and Courteney Cox recreated Monica and Ross’ iconic Friends dance ‘The Routine’ at the show’s reunion. He enlisted her help again on Thursday to tease fans with the possibility of new music coming later this month.
