Doja Cat appears to be out of this world as she delivers Been Like This while suspended in the air… all while playing host of MTV VMAs

Some of the biggest musical stars hit the stage for the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Sunday.

Doja Cat, who came into the show with six nominations, played host for the big show in front of a live audience, which wasn’t the case last year due to the still ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The starlet also performed her songs Been Like This and You Right, which saw her put on an aerial act of sorts, flying around the stage held up by wires.

In keeping with the acrobatics theme, world champion gymnast Simone Biles introduced Doja (born Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini) to the stage.

The acrobatic part of her performance started midair for Been Like This.

Decked out in a red ensemble that showcased her ample cleavage and platinum blonde tresses, she delivered a sultry performance amid a LED circle.

She slowly suspended down to the stage and joined her dancers for a version of You Right, which was full of choreographed moves, without The Weeknd, who is featured on the official album track.

The high-flying performance is part of her promotion for her album Planet Her that dropped on June 25, and was generally received with positive reviews for her s musical versatility and vocal deliveries.

By the end of the evening she took home the award for Best Art Direction for the song Best Friend (with Saweetie) and Best Collaboration for her tune Kiss Me More featuring SZA.

Ahead of the festive show, The Los Angeles native, 25, joined the array of other musical artists who strutted their stuff on the red carpet

For her first ensemble of the event, she wore a toga-inspired Vivienne Westwood look complete with a black bustier and drapey plum fabric.

The Naked singer also got a boost when she stepped out in red platform heels that were accented with latex thigh-high stockings.

Rounding out the look, she wore a stone necklace, matching earrings, and had her tresses styled voluminous black and scarlet curls.
