Dr. Dre joins George Lopez at Kurt "Big Boy" Alexander's Star ceremony

Dr. Dre took a break from all of the drama surrounding his ongoing divorce drama with ex-wife Nicole Young by helping honor iconic L.A. DJ Kurt ‘Big Boy’ Alexander.

The 56-year-old rapper was joined by another Los Angeles icon, comedian/actor George Lopez for the ceremony on Wednesday afternoon.

The entertainers were joined by Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell and Hollywood Chamber Chair of the Board Nicole Mihalka for the ceremony, held outside of Amoeba Music on Hollywood Boulevard.

Dre, George and Kurt: The 56-year-old rapper was joined by another Los Angeles icon, comedian/actor George Lopez for the ceremony on Wednesday afternoon

Dre headed out with a plain light brown sweatshirt with matching brown sweat pants for the ceremony.

He was seen with a black face mask before he went up to speak at the ceremony on Wednesday afternoon.

The rap icon completed his look with a pair of pristine white low-top Nike sneakers for his outing.

Dre took to the stage and said he was ‘honored’ to support his friend Big Boy, adding it was his ‘fourth time out here’ adding it ‘never gets old.’

‘I admire Big as a pioneer of radio but also a friend, and only Big Boy knows how to control the airways for the hip-hop community here in Los Angeles and the world,’ Dre said.

‘Big Boy is hip-hop culture representing the West Coast and worldwide,’ Dre said, adding it was a ‘thrilling experience’ seeing his new studio.

Dre was joined by George Lopez, who wore a sharp blue suit to the ceremony, heading to the mic with a few jokes, thanking his, ‘opening act,’ Dr. Dre.

‘As a Latino, I can say that Big Boy’s commitment to the Latino community has been there all of the 27 years he’s been on the air, and if you don’t believe it his wife is named Vero,’ Lopez said.

He added that he’s been asked to speak at a lot of these star ceremonies, ‘but I’ve never been asked to speak for someone I consider family.’

The outing comes just days after the latest development in Dr. Dre’s ongoing divorce saga with Nicole Young, where he sued her for embezzlement. 

The rap mogul claimed that she withdrew over $350,000 from his recording studio in Sherman Oaks, California.

Nicole countered that she was entitled to the money because her name was still on the account and they were still married at the time.
