Drew Barrymore catches up with Chelsea Handler, Amy Schumer and Sarah Silverman after their New York show: ‘I was fan girling out so hard’

She’s been a star since she was a child and has appeared in several blockbusters and modern classics.

Yet Drew Barrymore still found herself geeking out on Saturday when she got to sit in with an impressive group of comedians backstage after Chelsea Handler’s standup show at New York City’s Beacon Theatre.

The 46-year-old E.T. star wrote Sunday on Instagram that she was ‘fan girling out’ after getting to hang out with Handler and her fellow acts Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman and Sarah Cooper.

Drew was dressed casually in a tie-dye button-up shirt over a red graphic T-shirt and khaki pants, and she held her mask in her hand.

She was seated in a semicircle with the female comedians, who were seated on a sofa.

Chelsea looked sleek in a lustrous black jumpsuit, while Amy matched her in her own black jumpsuit.

Sarah Silverman stayed on theme with a simple black T-shirt and slim-cut jeans with black boots.

Cooper, who’s less known for her comedy than for lip-syncing routines she did to former president Donald Trump during his administration, was also dress in all black.

Drew wrote in her lengthy caption about how honored she was to be among the impressive female comedians.

‘I’m not someone who posts a lot with other people when I’m out socially. I’m not trying to show my fab life. Most of my friends are life longers and we kind of keep just hang!’ she wrote.

The actress added that she was usually a homebody, and it was mostly her ‘professional life’ that connected her to other impressive people.

‘But this is a moment I am so proud of,’ she continued. ‘To be with these women who make the world a better place. Their wit and humor heal us. Make us happy. They are also so strong. Wow. I had to share.’

Drew joked that she felt like a ‘weirdo’ asking to take a picture with the other women.

‘I am a fan. I was fan girling out so hard,’ she gushed. ‘And this is a moment I had to share. Thank you to these comedy goddesses who are also amazing humans to boot. Wow. Pinch me!’

The fashion consulant Derek Blasberg shared some more behind-the-scenes photos of the group, including a photo of the women minus Cooper that he playfully captioned ‘Queens of the Gays.’

Another short clip he shared showed the women backstage, though Drew wasn’t with them at the time.

He appeared to have come to the comedy show with Drew, as he shared a photo of her in a vehicle and captioned it: ‘@drewbarrymore invited me on a date night…’

Drew was catching up with Chelsea just days after she appeared on her talk show, The Drew Barrymore Show.

Earlier this month, the show took the spotlight when Drew invited Dakota Johnson on and complimented her for her infamous appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in which she slyly called out the host for skipping her birthday party by incorrectly saying she wasn’t invited.

‘People have gotten in trouble for claiming not being invited to your parties,’ Drew told Dakota on her show, clearly referencing the clip.

‘That was amazing, by the way,’ Drew added, as she was met by cheers from the audience as Dakota laughed. Drew continued: ‘Like, amazing.’
