While the family no longer live in the UK after Meghan and Harry decided to forge a life outside of palace walls in California, they are said to be planning a visit very soon.
With Lili being the Queen’s 11th great-grandchild, it’s expected they’d want a proper religious christening ceremony for her, with the British side of the family involved.
According to reports, Meghan and Harry have put in a formal request to visit the Queen and introduce her to Lili – who was named for the Queen’s family nickname, Lilibet.
Meghan and Harry have had a somewhat strained relationship with the Royal Family since they stepped down as working royals, but Harry is said to remain close to his grandmother.

They also christened their son Archie at the castle in 2019, in a ceremony more private than traditional royal christenings.
A source told the Daily Mail: “Harry told several people that they want to have Lili christened in Windsor, just like her brother.
“They are happy to wait until circumstances allow.”
The date of the christening is yet to be determined, and will likely be impacted by Covid travel rules.
The US is currently on the amber list for travel to the UK, but Meghan and Harry are said to have offered to do what needs to be done to visit the Queen.
As for the rest of the details, we can expect much of the event will be in private, considering the couple haven’t even released a single photograph of their four-month-old.
But it is expected they will still follow some traditions if they are granted their Winsdor Castle ceremony, as they did with Archie.
For the day, Archie sported a handmade replica of the royal christening gown worn by royal babies for the 11 years prior.
The couple elaborated on their Instagram: “The original Royal Christening Robe, made of fine Honiton lace lined with white satin, was commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1841 and first worn by her eldest daughter.
“It was subsequently worn for generations of Royal christenings, including The Queen, her children and her grandchildren until 2004, when The Queen commissioned this handmade replica, in order for the fragile historic outfit to be preserved, and for the tradition to continue.”
On the guestlist for Archie’s day was Prince Charles, Markle’s mother Doria Ragland, the late Princess Diana’s sisters Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Prince William, Kate Middleton and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, among others.
The group was pictured sitting in Windsor castle’s Green Drawing Room, where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s official wedding pictures in 2018 were also taken.
