Manchester City officials are still pushing ahead with their efforts to sign Harry Kane this summer – despite Daniel Levy knocking back all their attempts for the Englishman so far. The Spurs and England captain has been subject to interest all summer – but the deal has been made harder by certain City players’ reluctance to move to the London club.
Kane, 28, has been Tottenham’s prize asset ever since he burst onto the scene in 2014, scoring 166 goals in 242 games in the Premier League.
However, his tenure at Spurs, whilst individually brilliant, has not been the most successful in terms of trophies – with the north London side not winning any silverware in his time at the club.
And widespread rumours believe that Kane is itching for a move to trophy-laden Manchester City to fulfil his dreams of winning titles.
It is quite ironic, given the fact Spurs beat City 1-0 yesterday, courtesy of Son Heung-min.

However, despite their best efforts to shift players, City have been given no fresh hope on five players they would be willing to sell to Spurs, wanting to leave.
A report by ESPN claims that Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy and Aymeric Laporte have still not given any indication as to their willingness to move to Tottenham.
This news alone means it will be hard for the Manchester club to find the funds for Kane – unless separate sales are found before the window closes.
The sources claim that Silva would be open to leaving, but would rather move to La Liga to be closer to his Portuguese roots.
And with Sterling, Jesus and Laporte having first team roles at the club, it would be heavily unlikely they could leave – especially Jesus, who is their only striker.
That leaves Mendy, but he would likely fall behind Sergio Reguillon in the pecking order at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
City look to get their first points on board at home to Norwich next Saturday, whilst Spurs play Wolves away from home on Sunday in a return for Nuno Espirito Santo.
Santo left Wolves by mutual consent over the summer, as he came in for fellow countryman Jose Mourinho.
