The car park is run by Excel Parking Services who claims to run over 210 across the UK.
Their website claims the key to their success is being “customer focused, not profit focused”.
Landowner Mr Jackson said the site was “camera operated” instead of a traditional pay and display car park.
He said drivers have a maximum of 10 minutes to decide if they are going to stay in the car park and is an automated system.
He said there are clear signs explaining the new system at the entrance of the car park and on “40 other signs” located nearby.
