Following the couple’s step away from royal duties, they participated in a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, where the audience discovered that the Sussexes keep rescued chickens on the grounds of their home. Eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed the animals reside in their own special spot within Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s California residence, thanks to their “Archie’s Chick Inn” coop, named after their two-year-old son.
Concerned neighbours have now warned the couple of the safety of their chickens, following a number of sightings of black bears in areas close to their property.
It comes after one Parma Park resident told of how a friend had captured a photo of a black bear by their chicken coop.
While another resident in the area, discovered a bear with a chicken in its mouth.
They said: “There have been a lot of sightings, stay vigilant!”
The Sussexes’ home is located in Montecito, California while bears have been spotted in Parma Park, just a short drive away.
The creatures are said to be roaming onto the grounds of people’s homes to stalk the birds.
Other Parma Park chimed in with their thoughts on the bears wreaking havoc in US neighbourhoods in the area.
They said: “Please tell your friends that are feeding the bear that they are fake environmentalists and are worse than wildlife trophy hunters.”

The sighting panicked residents, after CCTV emerged of one of the beasts roaming through a nearby garden.
Following this footage, MUS was put into a precautionary lockdown to keep people safe.
MUS superintendent Anthony Ranii reportedly told the Montecito Journal: “We moved students inside in a modified lockdown as a precaution when we learned about the bear sighting earlier today.”
Mr Ranii added that while the bear wasn’t visible on the campus site or nearby, the movement to lockdown came out of “an abundance of caution”.
The increase in sightings in areas neighbouring Harry and Meghan’s property, has fuelled fears that the couple’s chicken coop is in danger.
The couple were issued a warning by their neighbour Penelope Bianchi after her hens were attacked in May.
According to reports, CCTV footage shows a bear killing eight chickens while the 74-year-old tried to scare the beast away.
Ms Bianchi reported hearing the chickens making a commotion, and that the attack was the first of its kind in 40 years.
She added: “Please, please Meghan and Harry, get these devices so your chickens are safe and the bear is safe.”
