Harry Styles films My Policeman in the warm sunshine on Brighton beach in uniform

Harry Styles was back on the beach to shoot scenes for upcoming LGBT drama My Policeman in Brighton on Saturday.

Unlike his last foray on the sand, which saw him strip down to his underwear and film a sequence taking a dip in the freezing waters, Harry was fully-clothed in his officer uniform.

The weather was a far cry from his chilly swim a couple of weeks ago, too; this time a balmy 20 degrees on England’s south coast, with bright sunshine.

Yet the former One Direction singer, 27, remained dressed in his policeman garb for the beach scenes.

He transformed into his character Tom Burgess as he donned a police officer’s uniform complete with a ‘custodian’ helmet.

Harry removed the hat and his blazer in between takes to keep cool.

He donned square sunglasses and showcased a 50s-style quiff as he chatted to crew and was seen heading into a tent, erected on the beach for the star to retreat to when not filming.

Harry donned a mask, as per COVID-19 rules, and seemed in good spirits.

He was seen chatting to the director and taking instructions, before putting his blazer and helmet on and undergoing some adjustments.

After filming the scene, he was spotted watching the footage back on the monitors, seemingly pleased with his performance.

A script supervisor talked Harry through the sequence, before cameras began rolling again.

Elsewhere, Harry has been seen on set with his on-screen wife Emma Corrin while filming different scenes for the upcoming drama.

The Crown actress, 25, and the former One Direction singer got cosy as they sat on a bench outside an old fashioned pavilion in Hove a couple of weeks ago, to share a loving kiss.

For the romantic scene, the pair appeared to be completely enamoured with each other as they cuddled, joked, kissed and puffed on cigarettes.

Harry takes the lead in the new movie which is set in Brighton in the 1950s, and based on Bethan Roberts’ novel, focusing on police officer Tom, who is gay, but married to Marion (Emma) due to societal expectations.

The film follows him as he goes on to have a decades-long affair with museum curator Patrick Hazelwood, played by David Dawson.

Production on the film kicked off in Brighton a few weeks ago, and it is currently unclear when the film will be released.

Harry will reportedly film sex scenes with co-star David, who plays his on-screen lover, in the upcoming romantic drama.

An insider said: ‘Harry will be having sex on screen and they want it to look as real as possible. The plan is to shoot two romps between Harry and David, then another scene where Harry is naked on his own.’

The 2012 novel explores the criminalisation of homosexuality in the 1950s.

The Amazon Studios production is being directed by Michael Grandage, and has been shooting since April 12 on locations in London and the South-East coast, while the more intimate moments will be filmed at one of the big film studios.

The film will be adapted by Oscar-nominee Ron Nyswaner, and Amazon will be working with Berlanti Schechter Productions.
