    Ada Nicodemou shares her surprising workout secrets and reveals her biggest obstacle to staying in shape

    Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou has shared her workout secrets. 

    The 44-year-old said she works out for her ‘mental health’ before revealing her routine to Stellar magazine.

    Ada said she usually goes to the gym at 5am, however, on days that are a struggle she will do a workout at home.

    ‘On days when I don’t feel like getting out and about, I’ll do body weights at home,’ Ada said of her regimen. 

    The actress, who is known for her super fit physique, said she does a mix of body resistant training at home. 

    ‘I’ll do push-ups, sit-ups and star jumps and I’ve got some bands you can buy from Kmart or Big W, and some light weights,’ she said.

    ‘I do my own little workout for 20-30 minutes with music on.’ 

    The star added the biggest obstacle to getting to the gym in winter is the cold. 

    Ada has certainly not been shy when it comes to talking about health and fitness.

    Speaking to Body and Soul in February, Ada said her workouts were always at the top of her mind when planning out her week. 

    ‘Once I get my weekly schedule from work, the first thing I do is map out when I’ll exercise,’ she said.

    ‘I will write this into my diary and basically set a date with myself. I make sure that my exercise is a priority – that means I am a priority, too.’

    Speaking to New Idea recently, Ada said she eats foods that are high in protein and does high-intensity workouts to stay trim and toned.

    ‘I like my curves, I feel like a woman and I feel more confident – which I think is also really good as a parent… I love that I’m curvy,’ she told the magazine.      

    As for meals, she said: ‘Morning is poached eggs with some avocado, salt and chilli, lunch is tuna, turkey or chicken salad, and dinner is steak with spinach and avocado. For snacks, I’ll have some macadamia nuts, raspberries, yoghurt and cheese.’
