Jose Mourinho sticks knife in after Tottenham appoint Conte – 'They had a very good coach'

Despite Mourinho’s annoyance over Nuno’s sacking, Spurs managing director of football Fabio Paratici is ecstatic to appoint a coach with such a winning pedigree.

In a statement on Tuesday, Paratici declared his excitement over Conte’s arrival after missing out on his services ahead of the season.

It read: “We are delighted to welcome Antonio [Conte] to the club. His track record speaks for itself, with vast experience and trophies in both Italy and England.

“I know first-hand the qualities Antonio can bring to us, having worked with him at Juventus, and look forward to seeing his work with our talented group of players.”
