Kanye West releases deluxe version of 2021 studio album Donda… with five new songs and re-sequenced track list

Kanye West fans got a surprise in the form of new music.

The hip hop superstar released the deluxe edition of his tenth studio album, Donda, that features five new songs compared to the original version.

The original album, which eventually dropped this past August, had been delayed several times over the course of about 13 months.

The deluxe version features the new songs: Life of the Party (featuring André 3000), Up From the Ashes, Remote Control pt 2 (featuring Kid Cudi & Young Thug), Never Abandon Your Family, and Keep My Spirit Alive pt 2 (featuring KayCyy, Conway the Machine & Westside Gunn).

With the new additions, Donda went from 27 to 32 tracks, and now has a running time of two hours and 11 minutes.

The deluxe version of Donda, which was named after West’s late mother, also has a re-sequenced track list compared to the original release.

With the release of Donda, the legendary rapper, 44, scored his tenth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart.

West is now one of only seven musical artists with at least 10 top charting albums in the 65-year history of the Billboard 200 chart.

That illustrious list includes The Beatles, with a staggering 19 No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart, followed by Jay-Z with 14, Bruce Springsteen and Barbara Streisand both have scored 11. Elvis Presley and Eminem round out the list with 10 apiece.

Madonna, Garth Brooks, The Rolling Stones, Drake, Kenny Chesney and Taylor Swift all have nine, which means they’re all one No. 1 album away from joining the illustrious list.

Donda’s early success since dropping on August 29 also resulted in West joining Eminem for the most consecutive No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 with 10 apiece.

In its first full day of release, Donda was streamed more than 60 million times in the US.

Plus, tracks from the album claimed 19 of the top 20 spots on Apple Music’s Daily Top 100 Global songs chart.

Hurricane was released as the album’s lead single, out of the 27 listed tracks.
