Norfolk locals are reportedly very fond of their royal neighbours, the Cambridges, who regularly dine, shop and enjoy time outside like a normal family. After a picture of Kate, William and their three children enjoying burgers and chips in a Norfolk pub garden was released by The Sun earlier this month, many wondered how the monarchs managed to attend such a public place without any paparazzi or big security entourage.
As explained by royal expert Kate Nicholl to OK Magazine, the royals are usually relaxed in Norfolk thanks to the benevolence of the locals.
“If you speak to anyone from North Norfolk, they’re incredibly proud that William and Kate are continuing a love affair with Norfolk that goes back generations,” Katie said.
As a matter of fact, the Cambridges split their time between their home at Kensington Palace in London and Anmer Hall in Norfolk.
“Kate and William tend to go to the same places and these are places where they are known and have a good relationship with the landlord or landlady,” Ms Nicholl added.
“They’ve been going to these places for a long time, so it’s not unusual and it’s not difficult for them to go and relax.
“The locals are incredibly protective of them. You don’t often see people get out their camera phones and recording them.
“They are left to just get on with a family occasion.”
Seeing the family on a nice day out, one onlooker told The Sun how it “was amazing to see how down-to-earth the family were.”

“William and Kate often go out on date nights and you don’t hear about it. They pick places that they like.”
Although the family looked on their own in the pub picture, they do have a high level of security around them wherever they go, said Kate Nicholl.
“There will have been a security detail with Kate and William and the children on their recent pub lunch outing but it would have been discreet,” she explains.
“A plain-clothed and unidentifiable security guard who was positioned at another table. They would have blended in with the rest of the pub.”
