Kate Ferdinand works up a sweat as she gets back to the gym after a busy week

Kate Ferdinand was back in her home gym on Tuesday after skipping a week due to her hectic home life.

The former TOWIE star, 30, took to Instagram to share a video of her doing weights as she got back to her fitness regime after a short break which saw her juggle half term parenting duties and a sick baby.

It comes as Kate’s husband Rio was rushed to A&E last months after suffering with a mystery ailment.

Kate looked on fine formed as she did dumbbell shoulder presses as her personal trainer watched on.   

Dressed in a black zip-up sweater, form-fitting gym leggings and black trainers, the beauty was in full concertation mode as she worked her arms, shoulders and back. 

Captioning her post, Kate alluded to the busy week she had amid half-term, with the star joking: ‘I couldn’t find the time or energy!’

She penned: ‘Gym just didn’t happen last week… Rio was in hospital, Cree had a sickness bug and the big kids were on half term… I couldn’t find the time or energy.

‘Back to it this week, much easier to have a routine when we are up early for school. Aiming for progress not perfection.’ 

It comes after Kate’s husband Rio posed in a wheelchair while celebrating Halloween with his family on Sunday, after suffering a mystery ailment.

He penned a caption reading: ‘Happy Halloween. Been in hospital all week, promised the kids I’d dress up….even if it was for an hour & in a wheel chair.’

Last Sunday, Rio revealed he was in A&E – as he watched Manchester United’s shock 5-0 defeat to Liverpool. The #Man U ace tweeted a snap from a hospital bed as he watched the match. The star did not disclose details of the medical issue.

He wrote: ‘This 60 mins have sent me to A&E… FFS.’

The TV pundit also shared the same snap to his Instagram stories, with the caption: ‘Sat in A&E watching this… FFS’.

Despite her partner’s illness, Kate still found time to enjoy the Halloween festivities over the weekend.

She transformed into the iconic villainess Cruella De Vil, opting for a skintight black LBD and red leather boots, along with a spotted red coat that’s synonymous with Cruella’s look.

Along with adding black spots to her blonde bob, Kate added oversized green eyelids to her face to replicate the cartoon incarnation of the character.

Kate posed for the snap with her husband Rio’s daughter Tia, who was dressed in a fun spotted shirt with her pigtails in matching scrunchies, and little Cree, who wore a sweet spotted onesie.

She aptly captioned the post: ‘I don’t play when it comes to my fur-babies.’ 

She also dressed as a pumpkin and sported a matching costume to her baby son as she posed for a snap.
