Kate Middleton is planning a 'special' birthday celebration for William after tough year

Prince William will turn 39 on Monday June 21 and is expected to mark the occasion at Kensington Palace with his wife and three young children. Royal biographer Katie Nicholl believes Kate will go the extra mile to ensure her husband has a day that he will never forget. She told OK! magazine: “Kate always makes birthdays and celebrations special for William and the children.

“She’s very much like her mother Carole in that respect.

“She’ll be aware that this year has been tough for William and will want both his birthday and Father’s Day to be special for him.”

The Duke of Cambridge has endured a difficult year, that has seen his relations with his brother Harry come under further strain.

Moreover, in April he lost his grandfather Prince Philip, who died at the grand old age of 99.

Ms Nicholl suggested William and Kate’s relationship has only grown stronger as a result of the recent challenges they have had to overcome.

“Kate keeps William very grounded and she likes to show how important he is to her and the children,” she explained.

Kate, wearing a necklace of her children’s initials, said in a video: “The centre hopes to raise awareness of why the first five years of life are just so important for our future life outcomes, and what we can do as a society to embrace this golden opportunity to create a happier, more mentally healthy, more nurturing society.

“We can change the way we think about early childhood, and transform lives for generations to come.”

Research has shown that adult social challenges such as addiction, violence, family breakdown, homelessness and mental ill-health have their roots in the earliest years.
