Katie Holmes goes boho chic in blue print overalls as she strolls with male pals in NYC

She is single again following her split from Emilio Vitolo Jr.

And Katie Holmes was spotted enjoying a bit of quality time with a couple of her friends in New York City this Friday.

While out with her male pals the 42-year-old showed off her winning street style by going boho chic in a set of blue print overalls over a white T-shirt.

She gathered her dark hair into an updo and added a splash of dazzle to the ensemble with a gleaming medallion necklace.

The Batman begins star, who shares her 15-year-old daughter Suri with her ex-husband Tom Cruise, added a summery touch with white penny loafers. 

Katie at one point was seen playfully grabbing both of her friends’ arms as they made their way across the street together.

News of her split from Emilio began circulating in mid-May and a spokesperson for them told Us Weekly they ‘parted ways amicably but remain friends.’

Emilio, a chef who runs the restaurant Emilio’s Ballato with his father, had been linked to Katie since last September.

However in mid-April Page Six insiders claimed that she had slowed down her romance with Emilio but was still with him.

Shortly thereafter an Us Weekly source said: ‘They’ve agreed to give each other space. They both have a lot of commitments piling up.’

Katie evidently spent part of this spring in Connecticut away from Emilio working on her second feature film as a director.

The romance movie stars her in a cast that includes Melissa Leo and Zosia Mamet and Deadline reported at the beginning of May that it had wrapped. 

An Entertainment Tonight source has said that while she was shooting she wanted to ‘wait and see’ what became of her relationship once she was back in New York.

‘Before she left, they were inseparable, but their relationship was existing in a bubble. Because of the pandemic, she wasn’t jet setting around the country for jobs and he wasn’t tied up every night working at his family’s restaurant,’ said the insider.

‘His usually very busy social life was non-existent, and so they had all the time in the world for each other,’ the source explained.

However they discovered they were not ‘as compatible anymore’ after they began to revert to their regular lives as the coronavirus lockdowns eased. 

Late last month he was spotted outside his family’s restaurant having a friendly chat with Zoe Kravitz  – who is herself newly single as she filed for divorce from her husband of 18 months Karl Glusman this January.

Emilio himself has ventured into the acting business and this month will see the release of his new film The Birthday Cake, a mafia movie with a cast that includes Ewan McGregor, Val Kilmer, Lorraine Bracco and Vincent Pastore.
