    Katie Holmes looks camera ready in green cloak and over the knee boots on the set of third directorial project Rare Objects


     Katie Holmes was spotted in full wardrobe while walking on the set of her film Rare Objects in New York City. 

    The 42-year-old actress — who also serves as director, producer and star of the upcoming project — looked stylish in a green suede cloak and over the knee boots on Wednesday morning. 

    Based on a novel of the same name by Kathleen Tessaro, production on the on-screen adaptation (also co-written by Holmes) has been underway since late October.

    The Dawson’s Creek alum’s wardrobe for the day included a forest green cloak and a floral dress with heeled over the knee boots. 

    The usually stripped back star looked stunning as she showed off fresh glam which included some light winged eyeliner and a soft pink lip. 

    Her auburn tresses were clipped back on either side and she showed off a string of hoop earrings while being led to set by production personnel. 

    Katie clutched a script and her cellphone in hand and tied her bandana printed face mask around her wrist. 

    She looked ready to jump in front of the camera as she has been namely pictured behind the lens the last several weeks.

    Early call time: While heading out of her trailer and on to set behind a production personnel she was seen clutching her script in hand

    Variety revealed on November 9 that American Rust breakout star Julia Mayorga, 27, would be starring as the main character Maeve in the on-screen adaptation of the historical fiction novel. 

    Though no information about Holmes’ character has been revealed it seems likely she will play the other main character Diana from Tessaro’s 2016 book. 

    Rare Objects — which is set in the Great Depression — tells the story of a young woman (Mayorga) who tries to rebuild her life in an antique shop, after a stint in a mental asylum. 

    While working in the shop she runs into Diana — a socialite she had first met in the asylum — and gets drawn into a new world while trying to transcend her traumatic past.

    Rare Objects is Holmes’ third directorial project after 2016’s All We Had and the recently completed film Alone Together. 

    Her production company, Lafayette Pictures, which launched in June also serves as producer on the upcoming film.  

    Following her split from chef/actor Emilio Vitolo Jr. in the spring, Katie has reportedly been ‘going on a few very low-key dates,’ per Us Weekly but is ‘not focused on her dating life and not searching for love.’  

    The former pair first began dating in September 2020 but ‘parted ways amicably’ sometime around late April.
