It was reported earlier this week that by The Australian that Kayla Istines was the ‘big winner from the sale’ of her and ex Tobi Pearce’s fitness empire, Sweat.

And after it was claimed that she received the lion’s share of the AU$400million sale, getting three times as much as her business partner, it seems things were a little more even than first thought.

On Saturday, The Australian reported that the pair actually enjoyed a ’50-50 split of proceeds.’

The publication also reports that Tobi has ‘assumed full ownership of the duo’s K&T Investments’ and he was ‘transferred Itsines’s stake for zero dollars.’

It was reported earlier this week that Istines, 30, ‘was the big winner from the sale’ because she reportedly owned a larger share of the business than co-founder Pearce, who is also her ex-fiancé.

Itsines was said to have earned US$225million (AU$300million) following the sale of Sweat to an American software giant,

By contrast, it was previously reported that 29-year-old Pearce made US$75million (AU$100million).

The record-breaking sale comes after Itsines confirmed her split from Pearce, with whom she shares two-year-old daughter Arna, in August last year.

The former couple, who were together for eight years, co-founded the Bikini Body Training Company – later renamed Sweat – after meeting in late 2012.

The business partners sold their health and fitness empire to U.S. software giant iFIT Health & Fitness Inc for $400million, The Courier Mail reported on Tuesday.

In 2020, the Sweat app generated a staggering $99.5million in revenue, with the majority of sales coming from the American market.

Pearce previously told The Australian they remained committed to leading the brand from Australia.

Itsines and Pearce were ranked joint fifth on the Australian Financial Review’s Young Rich List for 2018, making them the wealthiest self-made twentysomethings in Australia.
