Lewis Hamilton reacts to Max Verstappen being handed Russia penalty for Italian GP crash

    “If you look at the images of the crash, my head is really quite far forward in the cockpit.

    “I have been racing a long, long time. I am so grateful I am still here. I feel incredibly blessed that someone was watching over me today.”

    The halo, a ring of titanium that sits above the car’s cockpit to protect the driver’s head from flying debris, was introduced to Formula One in 2018 and faced some backlash.

    However, Hamilton’s boss Toto Wolff felt the same and praised the introduction of the halo to Formula one.
