Watching a film on a big screen is a real treat for most of us, and now the days of heading to the cinema for the experience could be a thing of the past – that is, if you have a spare £1.2 million kicking about.

LG has launched an enormous new TV, measuring a whopping 325 inches (27ft) wide.

The TV, dubbed the Extreme Home Cinema, is described by the firm as the ‘supercar of home theatre displays’, and is available in 2K, 4K and 8K configurations.

However, it’s not exactly cheap, with prices ranging from £50,000 ($70,000) to £1.2 million ($1.7 million).

The huge TV is available in various sizes, with 2K options up to 196-inches wide, 4K options up to 393-inches wide, and an 8K option, measuring 325-inches wide.

Users can also opt for different configurations based on the space in their home, with options for horizontal, vertical and even diagonal sets.

And adding to the luxury, each TV also comes with a flight case, allowing users to take their huge TV with them on holiday, should they so choose.

LG announced the Extreme Home Cinema this week, and joked it has ‘everything you need, except the popcorn.’

On its website, it explained: ‘The LG indoor fine-pitch direct view LED (DVLED) home cinema display allows viewers to immerse themselves in the captivating brilliance, vibrant colour, wide contrast ratio, and breathtaking screen sizes in your own home theatre.

‘Available in various sizes and performance levels, LG’s home cinema displays take the guess work out of configuring which DVLED screen is right for you.

‘From 2K to 8K configurations with screen sizes from 108″ to a show stopping 325″, these solutions come with virtually everything you need, except the popcorn.’

‘While some may say ATA CERTIFIED FLIGHT CASES are overkill, LG believes they make perfect sense. After all, a premium display deserves premium treatment,’ LG explained.

‘Each display comes in these highly protective cases that feature custom packaging to ensure that your system arrives without issue – free from damage or missing parts.’

Unsurprisingly, the huge TV comes with a huge price-tag to match.

Speaking to TechRadar, Dan Smith, Vice President of LG Electronics USA, confirmed that prices will start at around $70,000 (£50,000) and range all the way up to $1.7 million (£1.2 million).

LG isn’t the only firm to launch a giant TV – Samsung also recently unveiled its own enormous screen dubbed The Wall, which scales up to a whopping 1,000 inches.

Unlike LG’s offering, which is a single screen, Samsung’s The Wall has a modular design, made up of several smaller screens.
