Food recalls are issued when a product is unsafe for customers to use. For example, if an item contains an ingredient not mentioned on the label, it could cause harm to someone with allergies. Here is the full list of the latest supermarket food recalls.
Sainsbury’s
Sainsbury’s currently has four active recalls.
It is recalling Quorn’s Vegetarian Turkey and Stuffing Slices, which come in packs 170g in size, due to the presence of wheat which is incorrectly declared on the packaging as gluten free.
Another product being recalled is Sainsbury’s On the Go Spicy Chicken Pasta, which as a use by date of August 30, 2021.
This item contains milk not mentioned on the label, therefore it is a possible health risk for anyone who has an allergy or intolerance to milk.
Mr Porky Scratchings and Mr Porky Crispy Strips, which are sold in Sainsbury’s and other major supermarkets, are also being recalled due to them possibly containing salmonella.
Salmonella symptoms include diarrhoea, vomiting, and fever.
Sainsbury’s is also recalling its Hypoallergenic Recipe complete dry cat food with Salmon, as well as with Chicken.
There is a possible safety issue with the foods affecting cats.
With all products affected, Sainsbury’s is encouraging customers to return any item they have bought to their nearest store for a full refund.
Tesco
Like Sainsbury’s, Tesco is also recalling Mr Porky products.
Mr Porky Original Scratchings, Mr Porky Crisp Strips, and Mr Porky Prime Cut Scratchings are all sold at the supermarket’s stores.
Customers are advised not to eat the products and to return them to their local shop for a full refund.
Aldi
One Mr Porky product is sold in Aldi stores – the Mr Porky Original Scratchings.
All batches up to and including best before February 19, 2022, are affected.
Aldi said: “Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given.”
Customers should be aware that Mr Porky savoury snacks are also sold at Morrisons, Asda, and Waitrose.
