Lisa Curry and her family visit the beach to commemorate one year since the death of her daughter Jaimi – as she says her life will ‘never be complete’ after the loss of her child

Lisa Curry and her family made a poignant trip to the beach this week, to commemorate one year since the devastating death of her daughter Jaimi.

On Thursday morning, the Olympic swimmer, 59, shared a string of photos of her and her family throwing flowers in the ocean to honour Jaimi, who died at age 33 on September 14, 2020.

Lisa was joined by her husband Mark Tabone, her children Morgan, 30, and Jett, 27, and a whole host of other friends and family members for the outing.

Alongside the images, Lisa shared a moving passage by Dr. Joanne Cacciatore Aguerke about losing a child, which she says sums up ‘what we can’t express’.

Part of the message read: ‘Don’t forget that even if I have living children, my heart still aches for the one who is not here – for I am never quite complete without my child.

‘My child may have died; but my love -and my motherhood – never will.’

Passing: Lisa announced Jaimi's (left) death in a social media post on September 15 last year, one day after her death. 'Our beautiful daughter Jaimi has lost her battle with a long-term illness and passed away peacefully in hospital yesterday morning with her loving family by her side,' she wrote at the time

Another section said: ‘There are days when I still feel paralyzed. My chest feels the sinking weight of my child’s absence and, sometimes, I feel as if I will explode from the grief.’

In the images, Lisa, her daughter Morgan and her grandson Flynn, three, were all seeing throwing flowers out to sea.

Lisa then took a photo with Morgan and Jett – who she shares with her ex-husband Grant Kenny – holding hands with each other as they stared into the distance.

A final image showed Lisa and dozens of friends posing for a photo, with the words ‘Jaimi we love you’ carved into the sand in front of them.

Lisa also wore a T-shirt emblazoned with an image of her daughter on the front.
