Emergency services rushed to the residential area in Seaforth, Merseyside, at around 6.30pm on Halloween. The man, who it is believed was attacked multiple times, was dashed to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition today.

His mobile phone was stolen during the attack, Liverpool Echo reports.

Police continue to investigate the attack, which happened as kids enjoyed Halloween festivities.

Detective Inspector Jay Halpin, of Merseyside Police, said: “We are in the early stages of an investigation into an appalling attack which left a young man injured.

“Knife crime has no place whatsoever in our communities and we rely on members of the public coming forward with information about such incidents to keep our streets safer.

“If you were in the Seaforth area yesterday evening and saw anything or anyone suspicious then please come forward.”

He added:  “Similarly, if you were driving in the area and have dashcam footage then please review it and if you see anything let us know.

“Tell us what you know about this incident and we’ll take positive action to remove those who use weapons to cause fear and harm in our communities from our streets.”
