The Glazer family have reportedly consulted Cristiano Ronaldo on the prospect of potentially approaching Zinedine Zidane to take over at Old Trafford. The Portuguese forward struck a close bond with the former Real Madrid boss during their time together at the Bernabeu as they cemented their legacy as Los Blancos legends and the Frenchman remains one of several options on the table for United if they were to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Problematically though, Zidane is not believed to be in a hurry to return to management just yet and he is currently enjoying his break away from management.
He parted company with Los Blancos at the end of last season after returning to the club and now he is eyeing Didier Deschamps’ position in charge of the France national team.
But still, he’s an option United are willing to explore and there is hope his stance on joining the club could potentially change if the club were to put the feelers out.
According to Bleacher Report’s Rob Blanchette, not all hope has been lost and there is still ‘every chance’ Zidane could join United.

After departing Spain for Italy with Juventus, Ronaldo made it clear that Zidane was responsible for creating a special dressing room environment that was imperative to Real Madrid’s success.
“The confidence that a player needs doesn’t only come from himself but also from the players around him and the coach,” he said.
“You need to feel like you are an important part of the group and Zidane made me feel special.
“He helped me a lot. I already had a lot of respect for him but working with him made me admire him more.
“That’s because of what he’s like as a person, how he talks, how he led the team and how he treated me.”
While Ronaldo is not yet set on Solskjaer’s departure, he is unhappy with the current situation at Old Trafford having returned to win trophies.
He has been the club’s standout performer this season having netted nine times in 12 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils.
United are also believed to be considering moves for Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers and Ajax’s Erik ten Hag.
