Manchester United’s attacking XI if Pogba goes, Grealish signs and three others join

    [ad_1]

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly sees Jack Grealish as the perfect replacement for Paul Pogba. Pogba’s time at Old Trafford could soon be up, with the midfielder’s contract due to expire next year and Juventus keeping tabs on him. So Express Sport will now take a look at how the Red Devils could line up if they swoop for the Aston Villa star, as well as sealing transfer deals for Jadon Sancho, Kieran Trippier and Raphael Varane.

    Goalkeeper: Dean Henderson

There’s been plenty of talk about David De Gea leaving the club.

But it emerged in the aftermath of the club’s Europa League final defeat to Villarreal that, no matter what, the Spain international will be demoted next term.

So that means Dean Henderson is primed to start next season as Solskjaer’s No 1.

The England international’s cause will be helped if he’s picked over Jordan Pickford at the European Championships this summer.

And Henderson will be hoping to make the spot his own after a season of being rotated with De Gea.

    Midfield: Fred, Grealish, Fernandes

This is where United could get really attacking.

If Grealish signs as a replacement for Pogba, he’ll want to start most matches. Certainly, he won’t want to be another Donny van de Beek.

And Solskjaer may deploy him alongside Bruno Fernandes.

Behind them, Fred would then be able to give United some added security.

United are admirers of West Ham midfielder Declan Rice but, given his huge £100million price tag, it’s unlikely the Red Devils will sanction a deal for every single one of their targets.

    Forwards: Sancho, Cavani, Rashford

United and Sancho. Here we go again.

The Red Devils have tried to sign the England international three times in the past. This summer, they’re hoping it’ll be fourth time lucky.

United have struggled on the right flank ever since Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure to Real Madrid in 2009, seeing the likes of Memphis Depay, Alexis Sanchez and Angel Di Maria toil over the years.

And that’s where Sancho will rock up, should he join.

Down the middle can be Edinson Cavani and, on the left wing, Marcus Rashford.

    Keane’s Grealish endorsement

Earlier this month, United legend Roy Keane urged Solskjaer to sign Grealish – and thinks Harry Kane would be a good addition as well.

“The two players who I’ve thought about over the last few weeks who I feel would be brilliant for Man Utd are Harry Kane up front – whatever it costs – and I’d go with Jack Grealish,” he said.

“I feel United are still short of that special player. I think Grealish would give them that and I feel he would enjoy playing at Old Trafford.

    “The fans would love him.

“What I admire about Jack is he’s got great courage on the football pitch.

“He always wants the ball in tight areas. We’ve seen over the last year or two his end product has improved. He’s an excellent player and obviously Kane would guarantee goals.

“Would it be difficult to get these two players? You bet your life it would be, but Man Utd have to go out and try to sign the best otherwise we’ll be having the same conversations next year about being nearly there.

“Jack would be ready for Man Utd. He’s done well for Aston Villa, a brilliant club who are doing very well, but Jack’s got to be selfish. He’s got to look to step up to the next level.”
