While promoting his new movie Free Guy, Ryan Reynolds has professed his adoration for Mariah Carey, which lead to him putting her hit song Fantasy in the movie, and even doing a hilarious lip-sync to the song on TikTok.
The 44-year-old actor was seen lip-syncing the 1995 hit single, asking his fans to, ‘Go see Free Guy this weekend so I can stop doing this.
The video caught the attention of the 52-year-old singer, who put together a hilarious side-by-side ‘duet’ video Tuesday on her TikTok channel.

Reynolds’ brief video starts with him just sitting there as Fantasy plays, but when the chorus kicks in, he starts aggressively lip-syncing with a butterfly motion thrown in as well.
Carey took to her own respective TikTok on Tuesday evening, sharing a side-by-side video with her lip-syncing her iconic hit… before reacting to Reynolds.

The song is featured during a sequence where Reynolds’ character Guy comes across Jodie Comer’s Millie and drifts into a daydream about her.
Reynolds even tweeted out that clip from the movie last week, confirming that Comer herself sings the rendition of Fantasy in the movie.
The actor even admitted in an interview with Variety in early August that he considered the song the, ‘engine of the movie.’

‘I am a huge Mariah Carey fan. It really was one of those weird things that happened naturally,’ Reynolds said.
He added that when he was doing a pass on the script, he always writes to music and he initially used a song from The Outfield called Your Love.
‘It’s an old ’80s tune. It’s great, but it just didn’t have that epic scale I was looking for. And then Fantasy just came on my playlist and everything clicked in,’ he said.

The actor said he did get in touch with Carey about using the song in the movie, which was released in theaters on August 13.
‘I got to speak with Mariah and talked to her a little bit about how much of an engine and an agent of progress that this song had been in terms of our creative process and the scripts. She’s just been awesome about it,’ Reynolds said.
Fantasy was the lead single from Carey’s 1995 album Daydream, debuting atop the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
It was Carey’s first single ever to be certified triple platinum, and her ninth single to top the Billboard Hot 100.
