Married At First Sight relationship expert John Aitken gives insight into his own relationship with wife Kelly Swanson-Roe
He’s the Married At First Sight expert who knows a thing or two about healthy relationships.
And on Thursday, John Aitken gave insight into his own family life, when he revealed who he prioritises – his partner Kelly Swanson-Roe or his children.
Speaking on Talking Honey, the 50-year-old was quite happy to get straight down to brass tacks.

‘I love my wife and my kids equally, but I’d put my wife first,’ he said.
‘She’s going to be the priority in my life, and the kids are going to see it.’
John delved deeper into his thought process, explaining that if their kids see ‘a happy couple’ it will ‘generalise out into the family unit’.
He then revealed he sets aside a portion of each day to spend alone with his wife, and away from their children.

‘It’s very important to see those boundaries and, as a result, we connect as a husband and wife, and it makes us happier around the kids,’ the relationship expert said.
John simplified his stance as ‘happy couples, happy kids,’ and advised couples not to ‘starve’ their relationship.
It was then pointed out that many marriages and relationships face difficulty when the parents feel there’s no time for a relationship anymore.

John is the controversial ‘relationship specialist’ on Channel Nine’s Married At First Sight.
He has been married to his wife Kelly Swanson-Roe for 14 years.
The couple share two children together: son Aston, eight, and daughter Piper, five.
