Meghan Markle’s 40th birthday bash has been organised by celebrity party-planner Colin Cowie, according to a royal expert. The Duchess hired the A-list events specialist under the recommendation of friend Oprah Winfrey, to prepare her and Prince Harry’s Montecito home for her milestone birthday.

According to royal commentator Natalie Oliveri: “She’s expected to have a bit of a party at her and Harry’s Montecito mansion, she’s apparently hired a party planner recommended by Oprah Winfrey.

“His name is Colin Cowie and he has planned parties for Jennifer Aniston, Tom Cruise, Kim Kardashian, so Meghan certainly has hired herself a great person there.

“Now 65 people coming to the party, Prince Harry has reportedly booked a cake from a place called Posies and Sugar and apparently all the guests will be eating from grazing tables with food and drinks sourced from local companies.

“Meghan is going to have family and friends there – it’s going to be a very different birthday from the one she has celebrated in previous years, so a really big milestone birthday for Meghan this week.”

Meghan’s birthday bash is said to be a ‘small and intimate’ affair with close friends and family in attendance.

The celebration will be held in line with current Covid-19 restrictions, which have recently eased on large gatherings in California.

Party planner Colin Cowie has worked with US chatshow host Oprah Winfrey on a number of occasions and was voted number one in American Vogue’s ‘Ultimate Wedding Planner Master List’ in 2018.

On his website, Oprah Winfrey can be seen quoting “He’s the man to call if you want to have a good time. No question about it!”

While the guest list for Meghan’s 40th birthday is unknown, it is likely that close friend Oprah Winfrey and mother Doria Ragland will be in attendance.

None of the Royal Family will be present, however the Queen, Prince William and Kate have sent their well wishes via social media.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry relocated to California in 2020 after deciding to withdraw from their positions as senior working royals.

They currently reside in Montecito with their two young children, Archie Harrison and Lilibet “Lili” Diana.
