Meghan Markle and Harry blasted for 'breathtaking entitlement' over Lilibet christening

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly requested a meeting in the UK with the Queen as they plan a christening for their daughter Lili. But royal author Robert Jobson accused the couple – who quit royal duties last year for a new life in California – of “breathtaking entitlement”.

Mr Jobson claimed Harry and Meghan appear to be “blissfully unaware of the mayhem their behaviour has caused” the royals.

Writing in the Mirror, the royal expert said: “The couple, who have been very vocal in the media from their Californian mansion lately, have kept Lilibet away from prying eyes and guarded her privacy jealously.

“Now there is talk – as she is already older than her brother Archie was when he was christened – that they are pushing for a ceremony in the private chapel at Windsor Castle.

“To some, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s sense of entitlement might seem breathtaking.

“They seem to be blissfully unaware of the mayhem their behaviour has caused the Queen, the monarchy and the Royal Family.

“After all, their relationship with the family since they stepped down as working royals, and their willingness to blurt out damaging claims on TV, has left its deep scars.”

Mr Jobson’s comments come after reports Harry and Meghan have offered to fly to Britain in the coming weeks to introduce the Queen to her great-granddaughter Lili.

The couple are also said to be planning a christening for their second child, possibly at Windsor Castle like their son Archie.

“In fact there has also been discussion about Christmas — and whether an invitation should be sent to Harry and Meghan, after they spurned one last year.

“The Queen is still very fond of Harry, and would love to see Lilibet and her brother Archie.

“But courtiers are surprised by the move, especially from Meghan, after what has happened.”

Harry and Meghan quit royal duties in March 2020 and are now living in Montecito.

The couple hit out at the royals in their bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview in March.

Harry went on to make further controversial comments about his family in the following weeks.

And he is penning a tell-all memoir about his life which is set to be released next year.
