Meghan Markle has been slammed over the launch video for her new 40×40 initiative which “parodies Britishness and Meghan’s role in the Royal Family.” Meghan announced the project earlier this week calling for people to give up 40 minutes of their time to provide career coaching to women looking to return to work. The 40×40 scheme was launched by the Duchess of Sussex in a video to mark her birthday but the Mail’s Royal Editor Rebecca English believed the launch material will prove to be “controversial.”

Ms English told Mail Plus: “This is where I think the video will prove slightly controversial.

“It does show Meghan and as you say her ‘beastie’ Melissa McCarthy doing a kind of comedy skit to the video call between them to publicise this intiative

“But it really kinds of parodies Britishness and Meghan’s role in the Royal Family.

“Melissa McCarthy makes a great show about wearing a hat and drinking out of a cup of tea.

“Meghan is drinking a cup of tea as well I noticed with no milk in which I mean..ooh… controversial on that one front alone.

“But I think it is the parody of the Britishness and the Royal Family which will struck people as being slightly uncomfortable.”

It came after Meghan was slammed by royal commentator Angela Levin over the “absurd” mentorship program.

Angela Levin was invited to discuss Meghan’s latest Archewell initiative on GB News with presenter Colin Brazier.

Ms Levin told the GB News host: “It is soo phoney really, isn’t it.

“It is absurd to think a poor woman who hasn’t been able to get a job and is out of the workplace will listen to somebody telling them in 40 minutes how it is all done.

“Because it is just totally unrealistic.

“And it was getting 40 friends to do it, she didn’t say and ‘I will too.’

    DON’T MISS:

You have to read between the lines with Meghan,” she added.

“We will all be trying to find out somebody who is unemployed.

“I mean to imagine you can change someone’s life like that is just absolutely ridiculous.

“And very insulting I think to people who are trying to find jobs, send out hundreds of requests from an interview and find life very very tough.”
