The Met Office has warned a cluster of lightning storms will pass over the UK in a matter of hours. Forecasters have three warnings in place for the UK, two over England and Wales, and one for Northern Ireland. Together, they sum up potentially devastating effects from the latest summer heatwave.
The Met Office warnings state extreme heat will hit Northern Ireland, followed by thunderstorms and wind in England and Wales.
The wind warning debuts first in just a few hours at 3pm, and will last for nine until 11.59pm.
Forecasters predict people living in two regions, London and South East England and South West England, will feel its effects.
The thunderstorm warning is much more expansive, and covers several areas from 8pm today to tomorrow night.
