Miss Universe Australia Francesca Hung trades the runway for the big screen as the model reveals she’s embarking on her dream acting career

Francesca Hung started working for E! Australia in 2019, after Ksenija Lukich departed the network.

And now the former Miss Universe Australia 2018 is taking her time in front of the camera one step further and embarking on a career as an actress.

The 27-year-old tells Body and Soul magazine on Saturday that she has landed her first acting role, a dream she has had since she was a child.

‘I was going back and reading diaries from when I was eight, nine, 10, and in all of them, I always say, ‘One day, I’m going to be an actress.’

‘But when I got into my teenage years, I lost my confidence,’ she said.

The beauty added that she has been working with an acting coach and ‘can’t wait’ to announce what the role is.

‘I’ve been taking group acting classes here and there and dipping my toes in. And then I had an opportunity to do a few auditions and castings,’ she said.

‘About nine months ago, when I found out that I had this role coming up, I started doing one-on-one sessions with acting coaches.’

Last year, the model revealed that her journey to the small screen on E! Australia has been bumpy.

‘I literally started in November/December last year, headed to New York and Los Angeles – that was amazing – and then by February/March, with Covid, everything was shut down,’ Francesca told Daily Mail Australia.

‘Literally, that’s been my first year in the job. But it’s still been nice, I’ve learned so much and it’s been a quiet and gentle start for me.’

She added: ‘I might have been overwhelmed if it was full-on, so I’ve been very blessed.’
