Men were revealed to show they are the most likely to miss their partner when they are apart from them, (67 per cent).
A quarter of women however, said that they are most likely to miss their cat or dog than their other half.
On average, Brits spend around seven hours with their pet each day, making those after work cuddles even more special.
Good listening is often a key factor for a healthy relationship, with one in five pet owners stating that their pets are the best listeners.
Some people even said they even become jealous of the close bonds their significant other has with their animal companions, with 31 per cent being envious of the attention the pet receives.
