Panic as police station evacuated over urgent bomb threat – officers and staff rush out

    West End Police Station on Torphichen Place was evacuated today due to the incident. Officers at the police station received a potentially hazardous explosive device. The device was handed in at the police station on Wednesday.

    Specialists were later called it to assess the device. 

    The station was therefore evacuated as a precaution. 

    The device was described as a piece of “unexploded historical ordinance”. 

    A member of the public had handed in the device to police officers.
