He’s interviewed some of the biggest names in Hollywood, but there’s one moment with an A-list celebrity that Peter Overton admits he would rather forget.

On Tuesday, the 55-year-old Channel Nine veteran news presenter revealed that his most awkward celebrity interview was with none other than Angelina Jolie.

‘I was front and centre of the red carpet behind the rope. The producer said, because I interviewed her for a couple of hours, to give her a kiss, it will be a great moment.’

Peter initially refused the idea, but eventually relented when the brunette beauty was nearby.

‘As she came close, I went in to giver her a kiss and I just head-butted her,’ he recalled, creating a ruckus a laughter between the radio hosts.

The icy moment was brought up after the pair discussed Tom’s relationship with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman.

Peter says that he holds no ‘ill will’ towards the Mission: Impossible star and believes it was a brilliant interview because it went viral.

‘He shook my hand, then he got a bit agitated, then he shook my hand again, and that was the end of that. I left the compound where we were doing it and sort of wondered, ‘What the hell just happened there?”
