After a virtual attendance to honour Warrior Games athletes and their supporters, the Duke of Sussex turns 37 on September 15. Reports suggest Harry plans to mark the day with a special message.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said: “The Sussexes like to announce charity initiatives on their birthdays.
“We saw it last year when Harry announced funding for CAMFED, a charity helping support African girls in education, so it’s possible he will do something similar this year.”
Speaking to OK! Magazine, he continued: “Of course, you can never predict what Harry is going to say and do, but Harry has already put out a statement supporting military veterans in the wake of the Afghanistan withdrawal.
“It’s a big crisis and it would be a reasonable assumption that any birthday initiative might be linked to Afghanistan and the refugee crisis.
“But he would have to be careful not to say anything critical of President Biden.
“Harry and Meghan seem to see their future in the US and Harry will have to watch what he says about US domestic matters, especially as it’s been speculated that Meghan is eyeing up a future in politics.”
On her 40th birthday, the Duchess of Sussex revealed she’d persuaded 40 friends, “including athletes, artists, and world leaders”, to contribute 40 minutes of mentorship to support women re-entering the workforce.
She wrote on the Archewell website: “Time is among our greatest and most essential gifts… what would happen if we all committed 40 minutes to helping someone else or to mentoring someone in need? And then what would happen if we asked our friends to do the same?”
Meghan announced the initiative with a playful video starring Melissa McCarthy and Harry juggling.

However, Mr Fitzwilliams added Harry might promote the Invictus Games.
He said: “Of course the one thing we’ve learned about Harry and Megan is that they’re very unpredictable.
“He and Meghan are supposed to be on a lengthy maternity and paternity leave, but that hasn’t stopped them making various statements and announcements.
“Harry might even surprise us with a picture of him and his daughter Lili, which would be lovely.”

Mr Fitzwilliams also told Express.co.uk Harry’s virtual attendance at the Warrior Games showcases his links to members of the US political elite.
He said: “This year’s Warrior Games have been cancelled owing to Covid and this will be a virtual event.
“However, it will be extremely high profile to honour the athletes, their families and caregivers.
“Harry’s contribution in this area over the years has been outstanding and highlights his links with senior figures in the Democratic Party, from which Meghan may one day benefit if she enters the political arena.”
