Dickie Arbiter, who served as the former press secretary to the Queen, has said the future of the monarchy will be in safe hands under Prince William following the success of the Earthshot Prize.

Prince William’s Earthshot prize is an award given annually from 2021 to 2030, for five winners with £1 million given each year for work which has helped the environment.

It has been billed as “the most ambitious environmental prize in history” with £50 million to be awarded in the next decade.”

Writing for Australian news outlet 9Honey, Dickie Arbiter said: “Prince William has shown that he has the all the makings, stature and confidence of a King in waiting.

“If recent environment events are anything to go by, and we’re still to hear from him at COP26, the future of the monarchy is in safe hands.”

Mr Arbiter added: “The brainchild of Prince William and his Royal Foundation, the Earthshot Prize has led to a worldwide search for the most inspiring and innovative solutions to today’s global environmental challenges.”

Speaking from inside the London eye during the inaugural show, Prince William said we are currently living in the “most consequential time in human history” and warned “time is running out” to make a change.

Drawing on William’s speech, the royal expert continued: “Closing the Earthshot Prize extravaganza he had a very clear message for young people: ‘For too long, we haven’t done enough to protect the planet for your future.

“‘Earthshot is for you. In the next 10 years we are going to act.
