‘She was determined to still take part’: Rita Ora ‘will return to the UK for the first time in NINE months to film The Masked Singer’… after leaving amid COVID rule-break outrage
Rita Ora is poised to return to the UK for the first time in nine months when she reprises her role as a panellist on hit ITV show The Masked Singer.
The beleaguered star, 30, left Britain in January after signing up for The Voice Australia, and has since relocated to Los Angeles with new boyfriend Taika Waititi.
But she will be back in the United Kingdom for two weeks of filming in October, her first appearance in the UK since drawing criticism for hosting her 30th birthday party at the height of Britain’s third national lockdown.

A source told The Sun: ‘She loves doing the show and though she has set up a new life in LA, she was determined to still take part.
‘She has been out of the UK for the whole of 2021 but she won’t be back for long because at the moment the trip is only scheduled for a fortnight.
‘There will be strict Covid rules on set but she’s hoping to see some family and friends while she’s here. It’s really important to her.
‘The events of last year very much tainted the UK for her. She sees this as a working trip. LA is her home now.’
Meanwhile Rita is also tipped to return to Sydney for The Voice Australia after her appearances this season helped boost ratings.
It’s understood that everyone involved in the singing competition, from Australian TV network Seven to production company ITV Studios Australia, is ‘desperate to keep the momentum up’.
‘Contracts are being worked on for Rita; the ball is all in her court to return. She’s being offered up to $1million per season, which is a monster fee,’ a source told New Idea.
‘It’s tempting in a world where there’s not as much money to be made in touring during Covid-19.’
Other coaches on the show include country star Keith Urban and Australian singers Jessica Mauboy and Guy Sebastian.
